an elephant seal that spent a few day on the sand at Sorrento Beach (Perth)
a young adult or teenager catching a bit of sunshine, but not a lot of peace and quiet
a few thousand people showed up to see what is a very infrequent visitor to our shores
this is a 6 photo stitch taken with the Pentax 300mm f4 lens

for some reason a sub adult Southern elephant seal has decided to make Sorrento beach, Perth, its home for a while. They, as far as I know, have never come to Perth before, although we do get other seals and sea lions. Tasmania I think is a close as they normally get
As you can see it has become quite the celebrity
exploring around Dalwallinu, looking for access to a large salt lake
we followed a “rabbit” track, only to find we were getting further away, luckily Barb wore her hiking thongs (flip flops)
