the biggest hotrod – custom car event in Perth
and all for a gold coin donation
so far i havent processed to many images

My first attempt at bike racing photography

Using my old manual f1.4 50mm Pentax lens on the K10D, set up to use focus trap,
so I can keep the shutter pressed, but the camera won’t shoot until it has focus
(hopefully on the subject)

I wish I could find out what kind it is
I took this using my 50mm lens and holding it reversed against a 2x converter, with no glass in it, that was mounted on my Pentax K10D. Using daylight coming through a window.
to improve it i should buy a reversing ring instead of holding the lens to the camera
and a flash may be better than daylight
seeing as the butterfly was deceased, I can have another go 🙂

but after 2 hours of driving I wasn’t not going to take photos

Tranby house, Maylands, on the banks of the Swan river
built June 1839, one of the oldest brick houses in Western Australia
originally Peninsular farm, it is now a tea room and tourist attraction

Big Al’s Poker Run is the biggest hot rod and custom car gathering in Western Australia.
On the shores of the Swan River near the Burswood hotel, hundreds of hot rods, custom cars, and old cars gather before going on a cruise around Perth, and to see all these cars cost a gold coin donation. The best value for money in Perth.
Maybe this year I will use a different lens to the Pentax 10-17 fish eye, as much as it was fun and enabled me to get so close to the cars that no one could get in between, it doesnt give an accurate representation of the cars. lol
The run takes place on the second Saturday in February, in 2010 it will be the 13th.
